Dwarf stewartia (a member of the Camellia family) are grown for the light-brown, cinnamon-colored bark, small white flowers, bright orange autumn foliage and distinct long dormant vegetative buds. The fine twigs also make Dwarf stewartia an excellent choice for shohin bonsai and winter appreciation. This species is extremely difficult to find outside of Japan. These seedlings have different size crooked trunks and have a fibrous root system which make them excellent for forest style bonsai. The larger size makes a good main tree. A true rare find in the bonsai world!
