Pseudocydonia sinensis

This species has it all! Pink flowers that bloom very early in spring, yellow fragrant fruit and orange/red autumn coloring. Easy to grow and train. The bark peels off revealing colorful patches of new bark each spring. The bark also change color in fall from gray to orange brown patches. Seedling grown in a larger training pot to develop the peeling bark. Trunk can grow fat quickly. Now established in a contemporary Chinese container. It’s rare to find good shohin bonsai Chinese quince.  One of our favorite variety. Tree height 8”, width 12”.
