Hamamelis virginiana

The American witch Hazel is a North American understory shrub which forms interesting trunks, however it is cultivated for its most unusual flowers. It is the last woody plant to blossom in October and November after leaf drop with small yellow fragrant spider like flowers. The foliage is clear yellow before dropping. These well established plants have been trimmed several times a year for four years and have great tapering trunks, full of branches.  Imagine an autumn blossoming bonsai in your collection!
