Pinus thunbergii

Japanese black pines are one of the finest and easiest species for bonsai training. The dark green needles, in bundles of two, can be quickly trained to develop small foliage. The trunk was originally wired to form a thick trunk. The rugged bark and illusion of age take years to develop, is apparent on this speciment. Completely container grown, this Japanese black pine has unique trunk shape in an abstract design. Healthy and vigorous it stands 14” above the Chinese container.
